I finished Lylat Wars countless time and earned every medal in the year it was first released thanks to Alan's generosity but it's only now that it's on the Virtual Console that I actually own my own copy. It is the high point of the Starfox team's career which has been on a downward slide ever since Star Fox Adventures. It's a memorable game for so many reasons: Slippy's constant bumbling (he needs rescuing about 5 seconds into the game), much unintentional hilarity ("Andross won't have his way with me"), loads of classic quotes ("Do a barrel roll!"), exciting gameplay (Sector Z's missile barrage) , varied levels (Landmaster) while still keeping a focus on the Arwing sections and epic music (take your pick). What I wouldn't give for a new Starfox game that was even half as good as this..
